Blatchford was one of the gold sponsors of the 3rd Uniting Frontiers Forum held in Panama at the end of May this year. “Uniendo Fronteras,” now an annual gathering of ISPO Societies of Latin America, was attended by participants from Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, UK, USA and Spain.

Members of the Blatchford team, John Ross, Prosthetist, and Richard Priborsky, Sales Manager, plus Laura Burgess, Physiotherapist from Charing Cross Centre in London, presented workshops and scientific papers in this lively congress and attracted considerable interest from clinicians, especially with the Echelon Foot.
Our local amputee demonstrator for the congress, Myka Hughes, who spent the last ten years on our ATLAS system was delighted to be fitted with a more up-to-date prosthesis by John Ross and to show off its benefits to the gathering of prosthetists and doctors.
The congress has grown considerably since its inception in 2005 and has become a force for change and development in the sphere of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Latin America. The host country Panama provided a beautiful backdrop for discussions on P&O related rehabilitation, microprocessor controlled prostheses, advances in foot, knee and upper limb technology and socket interface developments. |
P&O Services in Latin America have developed rapidly in the past 10 years, with many state of the art private clinics and family companies. The Congress reflects the enthusiastic uptake in the latest technologies in the region.
