Our New Product Development facility is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire and has a strong focus on innovation.
We are proud to have been awarded 4 Queen’s Awards for Innovation during the last 4 decades, and in our 121st year have been listed in the top 10 most innovative companies in the UK for 2011. This builds upon our Design Council Award and the Prince of Wales Award for Innovation. We have introduced products such as our Echelon foot which was awarded the 2009 British Engineering Excellence Award for New Product of the Year (Mechanical) Prize, and the BHTA Independent Living Design Award.

The team currently consists of dedicated bio medical, mechanical, electronic and mechatronic control engineers, as well as materials scientists. We have a purpose built model shop, various polymer, plastic, composite, hydraulic, gait analysis and electronic laboratories.
